Significant restrictions on approvals of Imidacloprid, Clothianidin and Thiamethoxam for active substances

With the implementing regulations (EU) 2018/783, (EU) 2018/784 and (EU) 2018/785, the European Commission has significantly restricted the approval of the active substances Imidacloprid, Clothianidin and Thiamethoxam. Member States must therefore amend or withdraw authorisations for plant protection products containing at least one of those active substances by 19.09.2018 at the latest.

With the implementing regulations (EU) 2018/783, (EU) 2018/784 and (EU) 2018/785, the European Commission has significantly restricted the approval of the active substances Imidacloprid, Colthianidine and Thiamethoxam. Member States must therefore amend or withdraw authorisations for plant protection products containing at least one of those active substances by 19.09.2018 at the latest. Plant protection products containing these active substances may only be used in permanently erected greenhouses and for the treatment of seed intended for application in the greenhouse and the resulting crop remaining in a permanently erected greenhouse throughout the growing cycle. Treated seed intended for outdoor sowing may be sown until the end of 18 December 2018.
